The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a globally recognized rating system awarded by the US Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED assists in benchmarking both new and existing buildings on a global green scale, adding value through worldwide recognition.
Various types of buildings, including garment factories, automobile manufacturing facilities, warehouses serving overseas clients, multinational corporations, global data centers, star hotels, and resorts, can all choose to pursue LEED Certification.
LEED addresses all aspects of green building, including surroundings, community impact, the design process, water and energy efficiency, renewable resources, occupant comfort and quality, and materials. Starting the LEED process early makes implementation and documentation easier.
Pre-certification is an option for certain types of buildings as well.
Building Design + Construction (BD+C) covers various new construction types, such as offices, core and shell developments, schools, retail spaces, data centers, warehouses and distribution centers, as well as hospitality and healthcare facilities.
Interior Design + Construction (ID+C) focuses on all interior projects, including those in retail and hospitality sectors.
Building Operations and Maintenance (O+M) pertains to all existing buildings, including schools, retail spaces, data centers, warehouses and distribution centers, as well as hospitality facilities.
Neighborhood Development (ND) applies to townships, neighborhoods, and similar community developments.
